The Top Five (D.I.Y.) Home Improvements that Realtors Recommend, based on lowest cost, and giving back the Most Bang for the Buck  (from Highest to Lowest ROI) are;

  1. Cleaning and de-cluttering the interior of the home;  $200 with a $1,700 price increase.  872% ROI


  2. Home Staging;  $300 cost / $1,780 price increase / 586% ROI


  3. Lightening and Brightening;  $230 cost / $1,300 increase / 572% ROI


  4. Updated Landscaping; $320 cost/ $1,500 increase / 473% ROI


  5. Repair Plumbing; $385 cost / $1,250 increase / 327% ROI

Other DIY Home-Improvement projects worth mentioning, but not in the top 5 due  to higher costs are;


  1. Updating/Remodeling Kitchen; $1,200 cost / $2,850 increase


  2. Exterior Paint; $900 cost / $1,850 increase

98% of Realtors Agree;  The Job that continues to Top the List as Adding The Most Bang for the Least Buck that a home owner can do to Help Sell their Home remains;  Deep Cleaning/De-Cluttering the Home - with an average cost of around $200 bucks and an R.O.I. of 872%!
